experiments with CS3 on 400MHz/1GB/128GB Pismo:
- Photoshop CS3 seems to work OK, even at a a tolerable speed
- Acrobat Professional CS3 does all I ever ask of it
- InDesign CS starts up, then falls over again
- Illustrator CS3 tries to start up, then complains about missing compulsory 
plug-ins, then quits

As a former poster said, you're maybe better off getting a G4 powerbook if you 
want to use CS3. Your comment about CS3 costs was spot on. IIRC, my 2.6GHz 
17-inch MacBook Pro cost a bit over £2000 in mid 2008. CS3 Design Professional 
cost about £1800. A farewell to savings!
