I bought a Pismo battery from the close-out of CompUSA that did
exactly the same thing on me after a matter of about month. If the
battery reset that others have suggested doesn't work, I can recommend
the batteries from Other World Computing (OWC). They're not cheap,
but mine has been reliable for years and still going strong

Good luck!
