(Assuming you are referring to a MacBook Pro.)

All Pre-Unibody MBPs have the potential to have video issues of some sort. Only two graphics chips were ever used in said MBPs, the ATI x1600 and the nVidia 8600M. The ATI, found in all MBPs up to the 2.2/2.4GHz models, can develop the issue you're seeing. The nVidia chip used in the 2.2/2.4GHz and faster models has a much higher tendency to fail altogether, in fact nVidia/Apple has even publicly acknowledged the issue.

So yes, the 2.16 logic board could have issues as well.

To anyone,

I have a 2.0 GHz core duo that has video issues. It will play QT vids w/ a coloured line across the video, usually of varying widths. It’s a random thing. I also have issues with the computer ‘flashing’ when I’m using Google Earth, etc. I’ve recounted the issue before. I have an opportunity to get a used but tested 2.16 GHz logic board that will work in my model ‘book. Did the 2.16 logic board have this issue as well?
