Greetings all, I have (an admittedly) speculative question to ask re: my iBook G3/700 14" laptop. Yesterday it died an ignoble death, with now absolutely no response to power up, even after the standard reset-PMU was executed. I am not surprised, as its performance has always been good-when-good and horrid-when-bad; one held their breath as you waited for the next kernel panic or (more usually) complete freeze and seize-up. During those days, I suspected a) bad RAM (native on-board) b) bad ATA controller or c) a heat issue with the CPU (maybe the heat-sink had come unseated). Too bad, as conditionally it was an amazingly excellent-looking item. So, I am disappointed, but not surprised. In my recent attempt to power up, I did notice that the battery light on the laptop never changed from green to amber (as it would when charging a battery). So, my question to the group is: did this unit have any historically known issues as I mentioned above, or based on the most recent symptom, would there be another diagnosis (such as a loose or failing DC board)? My intention is to sell the unit for parts, and I would like to give the prospective buyer as much heads-up as possible. Many thanks for the consideration. Best regards, Dana
