As I said at the time - the Zaurus sl5500 has a very poor strength IrDA port and you need to more or less have it a few inches away from the target. It also frequently fails to transfer files, especially large ones.

Have you got the stock firmware? There was a Mass Storage USB driver released. I used to use that and mount the SD/CF card on the host. That was way, way more reliable. Pismo should just see it as a USB pen drive, in FAT32 format.
