The warning sign that popped up said the speed of the disks was the issue.
The last disk(s) I tried were Imation, 4.7 gb, 16x DVD-R.  The research I
conducted on Google indicated that the disk speeds were incompatible with
the slower speeds of the PBG4 Ti drives, thus the "weakness" of the drives
you describe.  I tried burning both data and video on separate occasions.

I hate coasters too.  But just for experiment's sake, where can I get the
old 2 or 4x disks?
