Steven,

The long startup times are due to RAM testing. I wouldn't worry too
much about them. In my personal experience, Wallstreets take FOREVER
to boot. And a day.

The issues with Jaguar are puzzling to me, too. Have you tried
installing Tiger --via Xpostfacto, of course?
