Try to plug a mouse into the USB port and see if it works. If not, this will 
definitely determine that you have the update USB extensions issue; a known 
issue from way back. There is a set of replacement USB extensions that you can 
download that will allow the USB card (a Macally, in my case) to work on a 
Wally. The only caveat is that you'll get an error about the Apple Audio 
Extension not loading when you boot up, but as far as I know, this has no 
effect on anything.

Just replace the extensions in your Extensions folder with the ones in this
