Please, don't hold yourself back, tell us what you REALLY think... At introduction in 2000 (three years AFTER Steve resumed control of Apple, by the way), the G3 Pismo came in two versions, costing $2499 and $3499 respectively. In today's dollars that is $3160 and $4430, using the CPI calculation here <http://www.measuringworth.com/uscompare/index.php> Today the Macbook Pro 15" comes in two base versions at $1799 and $2199. <http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/macbook_pro> Yeah Greedy ol' Greedyguts McGreedhead, selling computers for half the price... Also, Have you actually USED a modern Mac? It's as user friendly and user-servicable as the pismo. You can't replace the optical drive, or the battery (without a $2.99 special 'Y' screwdriver, that is) but replacing the drive doesn't require removing half the logic board, and adding memory a way easier. The Pismo is a nice machine (II've owned one) but trust me, so are the new ones. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Books, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
