Installed $10 ralink type wifi adapter. No problems in installer log, lights light, machine see it in profile and includes app in startup items. I'm not happy with the help in network preferences and sharing but I would think it would just scan and you'd get something in the status bar regardless of settings. I'm just trying to connect to the net thru a g4 with an airport card in it. (my kindle can see the g4 signal) I'm aware of similar problems mentioned in this forum and here:
