It could be a damaged LCD. I've had 5 TiBooks and changing the LCD on one of 
them resolved a similar issue to yours.

It could also be the inverter board or possible just a loose connection.

There is a small white bar underneath the LCD I can't remember if this is the 
inverter or not.

Just check all the connections first. I'll have a dig. I might have so TiBook 
spares.

I am in the uk too.
