Just had a peasant surprise. I have a "stock" 500 mhz. Pismo (maxed-out memory) OS 10.4.11; I had never even thought of trying youtube on it based on my experiences with more powerful machines. But my son showed my how he's watching youtube on his 700 mhz emac. We both use Camino 2.1.2 and he told me to google the video as artist and title then click and watch the video through the google results. Even though we are talking about a G4 as opposed to my G3 book I found it actually played on the Pismo. Yes the visuals are a little jerky (but not too bad, i.e.: figures in motion don't stop and catch up seconds later.) but the sound is just fine and the controls work too. No tricks, no downloading, no buffering, just played it straight. For the purpose of watching to get the sense of the video it is perfectly adequate.
