I think you can scsi attach an old pre HD floppy disk drive to a Pismo with a SCSI attachment but I don't know if the Pismo can opperate it.
If I remember correctly, there are compact Macs that have built in pre hd floppy drives. With a hardrive and an hd floppy drive daisy chained, you should be able to accomplished what you want to. ________________________________ From: mikejtl <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, April 17, 2014 6:34 PM Subject: Pismo buying advice Looking for some advice here. When I was a kid my dad bought one of the first Macs for the family computer. since then our family has always been Mac. I have a shelf of old floppy disks with all kinds of family and school projects on them, mostly done in Claris Works. I'm looking for a computer that can read these disks so I can save get them off the floppies and print or store the files in an accessible way. I found a Pismo on Craigslist that looks to be in good shape. It comes with the VST SuperDisk expansion bay, so my question is: Will the Superdisk read old 400k and 800k disks or do I need to look for a pre-G3 machine? I suspect the Superdisk can not read them, but there might be a different floppy drive that fits a pismo that can? Any advice would be appreciated. If you have other model recommendations, I would appreciate those too.
