I did, but did'nt work: are sure you have WPA encryption? Googling I found an info airport on OS 9 accept only WEP, in such case I should leave my router open .... Angelo Here’s the official word from the mothership: <https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2594> To join a WPA network, a Macintosh computer must have: • an AirPort or AirPort Extreme card (see Note) • Mac OS X 10.3 or later • AirPort software version 3.3 or later for the AirPort Card (available via Software Update) Note the OS X 10.3 requirement. A Clamshell WILL run 10.3 (the 466 MHz version is updatable to 10.4) As for cutting back your router to WEP; that’s kind of a situational thing. WEP is trivially crackable, meaning it’s easy to get ‘inside’ your network, either to use your internet connection for free, for nefarious purposes or to set up man-in-the-middle style attacks on your own connections If your Airport menu looks like this<http://support1.gearguy.com/useruploads/images/mac2.png> you probably want to avoid it. If you only ‘see’ your network, or yours and a couple others at one bar, go right ahead. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs -- -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Books, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
