I heard that v. 6 ran very slowly in Classic emulation of OS X, while I found PS 5 to run okay, not that I use it much. (My brother upgraded to 6, which he only uses in OS 9 because it was so slow. On the other hand, he was using a rev. B iMac.) As far as video editing, iMovie is great for non-professionals and Final Cut Pro 3 gets raves for pros. If it's truly a new TiBook, i.e. capable of utilizing the new rendering features of FCP 3, the ability to run FCP 3 in OS X is a reason to use X instead of 9 (PS6 be damned!). As far as writing goes, Word 2001 works fine in Classic (although is this the one with a cut-paste problem?), while AppleWorks 6 is Carbon, so it runs equivalently in X and 9. E-mail is more of a joy to use in X, imo. Web browsing is satisfactory in X, but RealPlayer (which I detest, but must use occasionally) doesn't play nice with OS X browsers (and no news about an OS X port/plug-in).
