Replacing the backup battery is about as hard as installing
additional RAM; the backup battery is under the keyboard, right next
to the hard drive. There's no real "procedure" to it; you unplug it
and pull it out. It's the black and amber "pack" right between the
hard drive and the right-hand palm rest, it's connector is next to
the right side screw for the shield that goes over the processor card.

I've yet to encounter a battery that RadShack didn't have in stock,
or at least could get for me within a reasonable amount of time. I've
never asked about powerbook lithium batteries though..... I always
just carry the dead battery in with me and show it to them.

Any statements herein represent my opinion and do not represent those
of my employer. In fact, they don't even know that I know how to use
a computer. They don't think very highly of me, it seems. At any
rate, I'm probably just spouting off about things I couldn't likely
comprehend, so please just ignore me.
