Hi and Thanks for this major education about the ibook. Who would have guessed? Sounds like all bad news to me since I thought I could use it w/adapter only and not even bother with batteries. Are all of the ibooks made this way (old and new ones)? So, an ibook must ALWAYS have a working battery in it, eh? Time to go shopping... Why the intermittent "amber" light (evidently signaling a brief "false charge")? (It did it again tonight). Just curious. Thanks mucho.
