hi ..

i picked up on a thread a few weeks ago which seemed to suggest that copying
the data files from a DVD to the hard drive should also allow playback, i.e.
one activates the associated menu command in the DVD player and then opens
the appropriate file (amongst all the files that have been previously copied
to the hard drive) ...

i tried this, the DVD player didn't object to opening the file, but playback
was next to useless ... i.e. the sort of performance i would have expected
from my 8100/110 ...

any pointers?

tia ... greg
