Greetings. I've been encountering some weirdness trying to use an
external Zip drive with my Dual USB 500MHz iBook, running OSX (10.1.3).
The Zip icon mounts, I can usually copy files to the drive (a folder or
two at a time). But then I encounter problems when I want to 1) copy a
batch of folders at once, 2) empty trashed items from the Zip, or even
occasionally 3) when I try to open other applications while the Zip is
attached (and a Zip is mounted). The Finder hangs (beach ball spinning
forever). When I try to Force Quit the Finder and relaunch, it appears
to quit but it won't relaunch. I then have to force a restart because
everything is now frozen. I never have this problem when I'm not working
with the Zip. Any ideas what's happening? Solutions?
