Apple's officially tested max is 384 MB. The memory controller can
support up to 512 MB, and other Lombard owners can/have attested to this.

: difficult?

Not too difficult. But be sure its height is 12.5 mm or shorter.

: 3-is the speed difference between the lombard 333

Not necessarily considerable. But no doubt noticable.

: 4-is the lombard able to handle today's software
: in regards to speed (no hardcore photoshop or
: games)?

Yes and no. Lombard runs most stuff all right. But it cannot take
advantage of any Velocity Engine (aka G4) optimizations. There's also
a growing minority of apps that require OpenGL hardware acceleration.
If you wanna use OS X, this class of apps will not run on your box.

: 6-are there some quirks I should be concerned
: about such as the adapter or the lcd hinge?

Not many complaints about hinge, nothing like the TiBook.

: 7-I heard Lombard 333 can't play DVDs even after
: purchasing DVD bay. True?

True. The 333 lacks the built-in DVD decoder hardware, unlike the 400.
