Desktop? There's a desktop under here?? Well, I'll be. Someone else, can't remember who, said this would not be the case because the desktop is just another folder. Not true--the desktop is on display all of the time, meaning that all of the icons constantly have to be loaded in memory. Different, from, say, /applications, which only loads into memory when you access /applications. My machine just crashes a lot period, don't know whether it has anything to do with icons. Every couple of months I just do a select all and dump everything (except for disks and the trash) into a folder. Doing the job with a shotgun, or however the saying goes. That does bring up an interesting quesiton though--when I had macsbug installed on here, one of the most frequent causes of crashing appeared to be a call to SetIconDevice. Anyone have any ideas? I have plenty of stdlogs around, if anyone has any theories. Matt Reiff [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.12 GU>GM d++(?) s++:- a--->? C++++>$ UL>++ P+>+++ L>++++ E?
