IIRC, the Battery Reset does reset the little circuit that is in a battery
and that controls whether the battery will accept a charge or not. I've seen
with my previous Wallstreet that if a battery becomes completely discharged,
it won't charge anymore. Battery Reset "tells" the battery that it's not too
deeply discharged so that it can take a charge when you plug the PowerBook
on the adapter.
