I just purchased the same setup, having not yet broken the seal on my D-Link router
recently purchased from MacZone, and Orinoco Gold Card enroute from EBay via USPS.
After reading about your problems even extending to your adminstrator brother, I'm
inclined to not open the D-Link and send it back to MacZone before their 14 day
limitation is up.
What wipes me out is that both items are touted as 100% Mac-compatible and viable
Airport substitutes. Please contact me right away if you're successful in getting a
transmit/receive link. Good luck@@
