Each DVD is designed to be sold in a specific region of the world. There is something on the disk that tells the player which region the disk was originally for. Usually, you cannot play DVDs that are not for the region of your player. With computers, it's a bit easier on you. Most Apple's drives will let you switch the region your drive will accept, but usually only 5 times. The last time, your drive will be locked to whatever region you switch it to. However, there are some utilities that will write the firmware of the drive to make it "region-free". Then, you don't have to worry anymore about that stupid idea. -Laurent. -- ===================================================================== Laurent Daudelin <http://home.cox.rr.com/nemesys> Logiciels Nemesys Software mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] finger-pointing syndrome n.: All-too-frequent result of bugs, esp. in new or experimental configurations.
