Well, the iMac is likely getting a bit tired, though it likely merely needs a focus adjustment. This is not a typical user-doable thing (unless you're comfortable working around voltages that can a) kill you and b) put you through a brick wall doing so...CRT's have some rather high voltage components.) but it's a simple adjustment for a trained person. The Powerbook shouldn't get fuzzy, ever, for the same reason you can't change it's resolution...each pixel is a single defined pixel on an LCD screen. Also, never underestimate the effect of dust...clean off your iMac screen.
