They're only 4x4x20 and bootable in Pismo only, not Lombard.
MCE's much more expensive expansion bay CDRWs go up to 16x write speeds, IIRC. They also made/make 4x4 and 8x4. They are also available for Wallstreet. Note that the Wallstreet ones are of a different form factor to the later G3 'Books. The kludge is the UJDA330 and 770 from ebay - these are Matsushita OEM units you screw into your existing CD/DVD carrier. The 330 is CDRW, the 770 is a Combo DVD/CDRW. Usually around $180 for the 770 and probably under $100 for the 330. Some members on this list have experience of putting these together.
