> What kind of horror stories about CRT iMacs? Bad cases? How so?
> Curious CRT owner.

The major issue with the iMacs and iBooks is that Apple has
outsourced production to LG Electronics. The outsourcing began with the
Rev. C iMacs in early 1999. The analog boards on the CRT iMacs have a
nasty tendency to burn out anywhere from out of the box to a few days
after the warranty expired. The TiBook and G4 are still manufactured by
Apple, so QC on them tends to be better. As for Apple's QC in the
pre-iMac era, it was pretty decent.

The CRT iMacs are fine machines, but the analog board repair is a
PITA (pain in the ...). Though, it is better on the slot loading iMacs
than it is on the tray loaders. Having shudders at that thought...
Though, I am no longer working for the Mac shop anymore, as I moved to a
different part of the state.
