I've always been very pleased with newegg- great prices but they don't sell
junk.

Two drives that is making the rounds that you might want to look into are
the toshiba 4019GAX (16meg buffer, 5400rpm, 9.5mm) and the IBM travelstar
40GNX (8meg buffer, 5400rpm, 9.5mm).

The new IBM one is a little pricier (around $250 for 40gigs) but it is very
quiet and very, very fast. The normal travelstars have ~2megs of cache, so
the 8megs in the GNX helps tremendously with read times (ie, ~40-50%).
