There are a couple of ways to do this- you didnt mention whether you want to use OS9 or OSX. 1) Move all your mail accounts to IMAP so they aren't stored locally, but rather on your server. You could even be at a friends house, enter your settings and all your mail will be there. Downside is speed, and if you're like me you will use a lot of storage space. OS9 & OSX applicable. 2) Install office on both machines, then while they are both closed down copy your /documents/microsoft user data/ folder (or just the identities) between the two machines, replacing the one on your laptop before you go. Everything will be there now, then if you get new mail you'll want to reverse the procedure when you get home. OS9 & OSX applicable. 3) Create a shell script using ditto or rsync (or use one of the tools at VT) that at a click will archive your mail to your laptop if it is plugged in. Overwriting the user folder on the laptop could cause problems if entourage is running. Watch out for rsync, as it doesn't copy resource forks, only data- this may or may not cause a problem with the entourage database. OSX applicable.
