Hey, i'm buying a powerbook g3 lombard, which is the reason that I originally
joined this list, and it turns out that the battery might not work too well.
This is the situation:
He hasn't used it too much, and just kept it stored for over a year. I
assume that it wasn't fully charged. Therefore, it might hold 30 minutes max.
Aside from conditioning it (completely charging and discharging it)and
setting the energy saver settings lower, is there another way to get more
time out of the battery? I plan on running Mac OS X, but I hear that
batteries suffer on X. As a matter of fact, i don't know how well X would run
on a 333 lombard. any comments?
If I have to go and buy a new battery, what is the best way to get one
(so I dont get one that dies in less than a year) and cheap, so that I can
actually eat for the month?
And finally, just from the experience from those on the list, is there
anything else I need to know about buying a used powerbook?
Thanks guys.
