Hoping someone has already been down this road successfully ... I have been going through the steps of setting up a TiBook 667 OS X 10.1.4 on a wireless network in my home using Asante Friendlynet 3202AL Router and the Aerolan PCMCIA card. Everything has been successful, even though Asante only has distributed a beta version of their driver for card and officially don't support it yet.
I called Apple on some other issues on setup and asked them how I can configure my TiBook to print to my LaserSelect 360. The Laserwriter is connected to the rest of my home network via an Asante switching hub and an Asante Ethernet-Localtalk converter. It works great with my wired network. I was hoping the OS X print center would allow me to find it and set it up. Apple support has told me I can't print to my printer (wirelessly or wired) ... which I find hard to swallow. When I mentioned I had Asante products in the mix, he indicated since there were non-Apple products in the mix, Apple doesn't get into system setup or troubleshooting (said to get a consultant). I would be satisfied to print via ethernet; I would be thrilled to print to it via the wireless setup. Anybody have insight/possible solutions to this?
