If it matters, UW Oshkosh encourages Macs. We reguarly buy Apple computers for the labs, though still outnumbered by x86 (Win & Lin). Our Academic Computing offers discounts for students who would like to purchase a computer from Apple. And our ResNet (internal network) still encourages Mac as being the easiest to hook up and use. Just my $.02.
