Hello, I recently purchased a store model ibook/500 and am attempting to
install airport...

The airport software kept submitting a network listing of "Dot-F" for which
I have no password and it would not allow me to add another network.

I did a software restore wiping my hard drive and after reinstalling the
software...the "Dot-F" network is still there.

As my Airport PCMCIA card is used, I thought perhaps it is retaining some
residual software on the card.

It is probably my ignorance both with airport and Mac since I have recently
converted to the Mac format.

So I humbly ask your help.

Richard
