You cannot use an Apple AirPort card with your Lombard because that card
assumes that the antenna it needs has been retrofitted in the PowerBook
case, which is the case for all PowerBook starting with the PowerBook
FireWire, but not the Lombard, since AirPort wasn't available when the
Lombard was introduced. You can use a Lucent/Agere ORiNOCO card with 9.2.2
and the card will show up as an AirPort card. This card has an external
antenna, so it will work well with your Lombard. I'm sure there are other
cards that would work too. The nice thing about this one is that it's being
recognized as an Apple AirPort card, so you don't have to install any driver
or software to use it, only AirPort.

You probably want to replace the keyboard. I'm not sure you'd be able to
repair the problematic keyswitch.

bug-compatible adj.: [common] Said of a design or revision that has been
badly compromised by a requirement to be compatible with fossils or
misfeatures in other programs or (esp.) previous releases of itself. "MS-DOS
2.0 used \ as apath separator to be bug-compatible with some cretin's choice
of / as an option character in 1.0."
