Well, if its a pre-Titanium, that is plastic, so you could try a very 
fine 
rubbing compound. 

If you're talking about a TiBook, I wouldn't have clue.

Once I bought a demo Lombard unit from CompUSA which had been badly 
gouged 
from those darned laptop locks. I took a sharp edge at 90 degrees to the 
surface and carefully scraped them down to smoothness. It looked much 
better 
when I was done so I didn't go any further with rubbing compound or 
_very_ 
fine grit sandpaper (800 or so).
