MacStumbler is a warchalking tool. It is basically a sniffer of WiFi. It will tell you if there is a WAP in the area that is available for you to use. It will also tell you if that WAP is using WEP, the signal strength, channel, and the mac address. I know of people that drive around with their iBooks running because they are active warchalkers.
