After playing "taps" all over my keyboard, I found that hitting the key 5 puts a coin in ... after that you can choose 1 or 2 for either 1 or 2 players ... you need more than 1 coin for two players.
For some reason the sound seems always to be muted when beginning a game ... using the sound key on the top of the keyboard brings it right back up. This version is written for Mac OS X ... works on Jaguar as well (only 1 ROM doesn't play well, others about 7 do).
