I know this isn't the place to discuss prices but I also have a question about the relative rarity of a peripheral buried below.
I'm trying to help an acquaintance who's interested in a local 233 WallStreet 14" that's been well cared for. Never been dropped, blah blah blah. The RAM is now 192MB and the seller replaced the original HD with a 10GB IBM Travelstar. He's going to throw in the original RAM and 2G drive. It comes with 2 batteries, each capable of booting it up, and two A/C adapters (orig. and yo yo?) Has an internal modem and a travel case. Has 9.2.2 and 10.1.5 on it, but I don't know if that means the CDs are included, so I haven't given that any weight. It has the CDROM and Floppy modules that go inside. Alright already, here's my question: The seller makes a point of saying the floppy drive is rare. That true? He is asking $675, and I was thinking he'd take like $50 or so less but apparently that's actually not negotiable now. My feeling is that eBone or wherever could net a similarly configured unit a little cheaper, but that the lure of a local machine you could poke at first is strong.
