I, too, tried busting it open to see what was in there. All that gave me was a terrific electrical arc and a blown fuse. This second one has a partial short in the cord, about 6 inches from where it plugs into the PowerBook. By working and massaging the cord, I've managed to use it for a month while I struggled to get a replacement. Initially, I was looking on LEM-Swap and ebay for an older one, but they all seemed to be going for over $25 on ebay, which was more than I wanted to pay for something used. Hopefully its going to end today with the arrival of the FedEx truck!
