myself, im fortunate enough to live in what was a test market for 
roadrunner - we began having cable internet in my city about 6-7-8 
years ago.....during that time they apparently managed to work out the 
bugs, because at any given time during the day, i can download 
150+k/second. they dont support routers either, but i have my linux box 
running as a router, and have had no issues with them..they even know 
im doing it, and dont mind.
