Hi folks! I just wanted to update all who have kindly responded to my "Hot Pismo" saga. I took the battery out and ran my Pismo, as usual, via AC adaptor. Night and Day. My 'Book feels so cool in comparison to the way I've come accustomed to feel it: warm or even hot. I thought the heat was normal from what I've read about PowerBooks being hot. Thank God and AppleCare! I called Apple and they're sending me a new battery! I was advised to NOT try to use this battery again, although the TechGuy wasn't a product specialist and couldn't give me a blow by blow description as to why the battery was heating up and what it eventually might do to the electrical system or hd, etc of my Pismo. Between the new DVD drive and new battery, AppleCare has paid for itself. I still like to touch the 'Book to apreciate the before and after. Donald
