I also have a Wallstreet (233MHz, 512k cache, 320MB Ram) and I can't connect using the modem either, under Jaguar (I don't know about 10.1.x, because I jumped straight from 9.1 to 10.2). In my case, neither the 10.2.1 nor the Modem Update that came out a while ago did any good. The modem works fine in 9.1. This seems to be (at least in my case) more than just a modem script problem, because I cannot use any modem that I have tried (internal, external, or cell phone using the IR port), although they all work in OS 9.
