What exactly do you mean by "via Appletalk"? Jaguar handles Appletalk on your Wallstreet ethernet port just fine. If you mean using the localtalk (aka printer/modem port) on your wallstreet, then probably it does not work in Jaguar. But an ethernet cable is quite inexpensive and ethernet transfers are way faster than localtalk, so that would be the way to go. I am pretty sure the 7500 has an ethernet port (correct me if I'm wrong). In summary, you can perfectly well network your Wallstreet running Jaguar to the 7500 running 9.1, no need to use 9.2.2 for that. In the Finder, click Go->Connect to server and your 7500 should be there. Now going back to why you have trouble booting 9.2.2, that may have to do with the 8 GB problem. It is widely known that OS X in a Wallstreet must start from a partition totally within the first 8GB of the hard disk; though you're trying to use 9.2.2, you're selecting that startup partition from within X. I'm not sure if that's it, but I would try installing 9.x in the first partition and see if it matters. On my Wallstreet there is also a strange beahavior that may be related to yours. I have two partitions that each contain a 9.1 system folder, but each time I select one of them as the startup from within Jaguar, the mac starts up from the *other* (nonselected) 9.1 partition.
