Jim, from previous discussions on this list, I believe that Jaguar (and all other versions of MacOS X) always uses virtual memory (i.e., you cannot turn it off). You might be able to change how much memory in 9 is allocated, but you won't be able to turn off the virtual memory that Jaguar is using.
