>Were the competition between a new iBook and the Pismo it would be a

I'm not so sure. The only reason I bought a new dual USB iBook and not a
Pismo last year was because I didn't want to go through the extra expense
of rebuying all new extra batteries PLUS many expansion bay devices for
the Pismo - given how I did just that for my Wallstreet and how those are
not interchangeable with later PowerBook G3 models. I also wanted
built-in USB and FireWire and my Wallstreet could not give me that.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Wallstreet to death and probably won't let
go of it ever, but when this baby was new I literally spent a small
fortune buying extra batteries, DVD kit, and several expansion bay
devices (almost every one that was made except for the expansion bay hard
drive). I just know I'd be tempted to do that with the Pismo as well.

And, although I haven't had one day of regret so far in my almost
one-year of having the newer iBook serve as my primary machine and having
my Wallstreet now serving as backup, it's not quite the same for me...I
simply love the black PowerBook G3 line. The design was superb. It's a
classic that I think will only get more appreciated as the years go on.
