Is it a brick or a yoyo?

Mine brick failed and I had to re-solder the wire where it enters the brick. Split the 
brick apart using a knife, resolder the wire, test it, then glue it back together and 
use a dab of black silicon rubber for a strain relief where the cord enters the brick.

You've got little to lose, as they are considered unrepairable. Of course it may not 
be the wire.
