Does it 'just work' or are >there some caveats? Just the usual ones - get good reliable SODIMM's, and keep your Pismo plugged in when swapping the battery (the 1GB RAM load is too much for the backup batter, so you'd lose your PRAM settings - or whatever they're called now) >Also can one just stuff in a bigger disk? (I >remember the old days of Mac IIsi and PPC6100/60) where 'non >apple' disks weren't recognized by the apple tools. Based on the experiences of other Pismo owners I've read on this list, the Apple tools don't appear to be as picky nowadays (maybe because Apple used both IBM and Toshiba HD's in the Pismo?). It would appear that your main concern would be physical size to fit, and I believe stay at the 5400 RPM or below for drive speed. IIRC, the 7200 drives create too much heat. >One minor niggle is on the PC (and ones I've used since the mid 90's), you >could tap on the trackpad to mouse click - do the newer >iBooks/PowerBooks support this? Go open up the Trackpad control panel and I believe the bottom choice allows you to select this.
