Dave, My ABS is covered under my Pismo's AppleCare because I bought it with my Pismo. I've already had my base station serviced twice under AppleCare. They replaced it entirely the last time, which was maybe a year ago. I was hoping they would replace it with a snow, but I got a graphite back. As I said, it has worked fine ever since and I've never had this intermittent coverage issue before.
My AppleCare still has six months, so I'll wait and see if it happens again. I'd love to have one of the new base stations with the USB port. Wow. I hate having to physically connect my Pismo to the printer to print. Of course I'd love a whole new setup with a new 12" powerbook, airport extreme and a networked laser printer. Hmm. How would I add a cheap laser printer to my network? I guess I'd need a wireless router with an extra ethernet connection like the snow ABS or the netgear one.
