I have a not-so-small problem with my G3 Wallstreet, and hopes someone here can give some advice.
Basically, after running for awhile, the fan starts spinning furiously, the sleep indicator comes on and the computer dies. Resetting the PMU allows the computer to start up again, but only for a limited time. If the computer is left turned off for a while, it can run for several minutes, but if it had suffered a shutdown a short while ago it is likely to die soon (or simply go directly to spinning fan and nothing else). I had a friend and service technician look at it, and he had never seen a problem like it. Also, it seems that the batteries aren't charged when external power is provided. I haven't done an extensive check on the latter, though.
