It's actually that you can up it to 512 rather than the (something really small - 192??) official Apple max. At the time it came out only 128-Meg chips would fit it, & they didn't come low-profile so only 64 in the lower slot - total 192. Since then, chips have gotten smaller & bigger (physically & RAm-wise, respectively). But the WallStreet can't handle above 256Mb chips that I've ever heard.
